Competition Swimsuit Restrictions
There have recently been a number of questions regarding the use of more than one swimsuit at the same time during competition. Here is the official word from USA Swimming (click here to read the entire ruling).   Also, please remember that effective May 15, 2009, the new rule for the use of high tech suits for 12 & Under swimmers goes into effect. At the USA Swimming convention in Atlanta in September 2008, it was voted on by the House of Delegates to restrict the use of high tech suits for age group swimmers that are 12 years old and younger. The restriction will become effective on May 15, 2009. The regulation states that an athlete, age 12 and under, in an age group specified meet may not swim in a suit that goes below the knees or above the shoulders.
